V1.8 - Bug Fixes and 1 Ongoing Issue
Hello everyone! Thank you for your patience while I battled life.
A great number of bugs have been fixed in this update, and I can happily confirm that the first two endings should now be running properly without issue. A problem has cropped up in regards to the third ending, and will unfortunately require some further research into tracking down the source of the problem.
Details below!
Bug Fixes:
-Multiple event triggers have been cleaned up
-Skylar has been reminded to look in the direction they are walking when entering a room, for politeness sake
-Multiple dialogue lines have been tweaked to allow better flow, as well as some new movements/reactions added to improve the overall "feel" of things.
-Skylar has been given a confidence boost, and no longer feels the need to bring along their imaginary team members along.
-The gentlemen in the study room have been asked to stop freezing time every time someone bears witness to their existence.
-Some students have been reminded on college rules in regards to climbing on walls and furniture (including Skylar themself)
-Julie has been given a slight adjustment to her looks, in hopes of creating some aid with the similar facial structures of the models used.
-Janitorial staff have been guided to areas in which students were reportedly getting stuck on furniture.
-Both Tyler and Julie's ending have been confirmed to run as planned, and should now be accessible individually without issue. (*knocks on wood*)
Ongoing Issue (SPOILERS AHEAD):
I hate writing these sections, but I also believe in transparency when it comes to issues stalling part of a game.
So: currently, the third ending of the game is not accessible. This ending is accessed by completing one storyline, and then - before going forth to confess - completing the secondary storyline as well. Whether this mean first completing Julie's quest line, or Tyler's, and then going on to do the other's before you return to your dorm to begin the confession scene, does not matter.
Currently, I am experiencing a bug in which - not long after the secondary storyline begins - the game itself "resets" so to speak. Multiple events are disabled, seemingly without any true pattern, and this results in multiple areas or options suddenly being inaccessible, as the game now believes you have never interacted with them before.
Obviously, this is completely unacceptable, and I am doing everything in my power to try and identify what exactly is setting off this issue, and how I can best change things to prevent it from happening it again. Whether this means re-writing multiple sequences, or simply finding the problem source, I am prepared to do what I must to ensure that you all have access to a complete, fully functioning game.
If any of my fellow developers have run across a similar issue while using RPG Maker MV, please feel free to drop a comment below. I welcome any suggestions that might help identify the issue sooner rather than later.
Thank you all for your patience, and your continued support!
